The Carnarvon Growers Association (CGA), has commissioned Inovact Consulting to establish a peak body for the primary producers of the Gascoyne region of Western Australia.
Funding for the project was provided through the Gascoyne Development Commission (GDC) and follows the release of the Water for Food: Gascoyne Master Plan in April 2017.
The master plan provides the strategy and actions required to double the value of the food production sector in the Gascoyne region to be over $400m by 2030.
The establishment of a single peak industry body involving primary industry businesses from across the region is a key strategic initiative that will provide the capacity to drive growth.
The Gascoyne region has abundant natural resources and successful seafood, horticulture and pastoral industries. It is a reliable global provider of quality food products.
Inovact Consulting will be applying its SAVI methodology, which is a demand-based approach to achieve industry change and institutional innovation. The method has been successful in producing results for industry organisations and businesses in the seafood, meat processing, horticulture (citrus) and pork industries.
Our approach will be inclusive and concentrate on building a peak body that Gascoyne primary producers will want to invest in and be part of.
Inovact Consulting will be visiting Carnarvon and the Gascoyne in early August 2017 and look forward to kicking off the project!
