In November 2018, the Australian Nursery and Garden Industry Associations, along with the national body Nursery and Garden Industry Australia (NGIA) unanimously committed to reinventing their industry representation. The new strategic direction will see the industry move from the existing federated model to a new hybrid structure which will allow both industry businesses and associations to be direct members of the new national body. The decision to reinvent was made during a meeting involving the NGI network after much agreement from businesses in the industry of the need for change.

This is a huge step forward for the nursery and garden industry and a great example of businesses and associations proactively looking to the future and striving to be a 21st-century industry body.

Inovact Consulting is proud to have developed the business plan and helped to build momentum for a hybrid body which saw all state nursery and garden associations unanimously agree to evolve from the current federated structure. Inovact is looking forward to continuing the process to reinvent this great industry.

In January 2019, the Nursery and Garden Industry Australia (NGIA) announced that a Transition Team of NGI members had been identified to advance the move to a hybrid national body.
